Earlier this week we made soap! We do it quite often, but this time I shared a little picture of it on Instagram and my Facebook page, which led to some recipe requests… so here it is!
We use this soap for body and face purposes, and it contains Frankincense! YAY! Frankincense has lovely anti-aging properties as well as supporting inflammation free skin! As this is a product that is going on the body, you want to make SURE you use a high quality,
therapeutic grade, un-adulterated essential oil from a company you trust!
As a super fun side note, the littles LOVE helping to make it, and it’s so easy they could probably do it themselves.
Here’s the goods:
Ingredients:
1 lb Goat’s Milk Soap Base (I buy mine here: http://amzn.to/2hjBgV9)
1 lb Honey Soap Base (Here’s the one I buy: http://amzn.to/2hjG3G2)
Organic Hibiscus Flowers (TOTALLY optional, had some on hand, got them here: http://amzn.to/2hZNPlA)
Frankincense Essential Oil (about 30 drops–find out how to get it wholesale)
Supplies:
Soap Molds (I like silicone molds, but for this I used wax paper and a loaf pan)
Crock Pot
Stirring Utensil
Directions:
Melt the soap bases in a crockpot on low. The time it takes varies per crockpot, our “crafting crock” took about 2 hours. Stir to ensure the bases mix well. Turn off the crockpot and stir in hibiscus flowers and Frankincense drops. Pour into the soap molds and let sit over night. Voila! SOAP!
We store the extras in a container under the sink in the bathroom. Enjoy!
