While I admire Sarah and make no judgement in her parenting choices…and no I don’t think that standard sunscreen is toxic death cream (but its close…j/k LOL) … but I think it opens up an important conversation about 1- the pressure to do parenting perfectly and 2-it opens the door for peeps to think twice and finally have that simple, doable, stress-free solutions that are better/safer for kiddos.
Here’s the thing–its not important to do it perfectly, no its not optimal to let kids get sunburned instead of using a regular old sunscreen.
But what trips moms up is when they go back and forth, they don’t commit fully to either doing it in a natural holistic way or using the standard products thus they get stuck in guilt ridden toxic death cream situations. That’s when its difficult, thats when you struggle to be perfect, thats when you have the guilt and when you are doing it for “appearances.”
Best bet… give zero fucks. Yep I said it… not one single fuck shall be given.
Not about your kids obviously.
You must make the decision based on your research and your intuition. Make the choice that is most optimal for you and your family. And when you choose your path, natural or not … stand in your decision and give zero fucks about what anyone else may think or say about it. Be rid of the guilt.
For me and mine, I choose to be as natural and holistic as possible in the simplest and most practical way. If that doesn’t resonate, no problem! I seek to inform but not to convince.
